Advocacy  and  Legislation

We represent Arizona’s engineering and land surveying firms at the local, state, and federal levels by actively monitoring and influencing legislation and regulations that impact the profession. Through its advocacy efforts, ACEC Arizona advances key priorities such as qualifications-based selection, infrastructure investment, workforce development, and fair business practices, while engaging policymakers, agencies, and strategic partners to ensure the engineering industry maintains a strong and effective voice. Members are supported with timely updates, practical tools, and meaningful opportunities to get involved in shaping policy outcomes. These efforts encompass comprehensive local, state, and federal engagement; oversight of legislation and regulatory issues; promotion of fair procurement and business practices; and sustained representation that strengthens the industry as a whole.

Workforce Development

ACEC Arizona focuses on strengthening the engineering and surveying talent pipeline across Arizona by supporting K–12, higher education, and career pathway initiatives that introduce students and early-career professionals to engineering and surveying careers. Through strategic partnerships with universities, public agencies, and industry leaders, ACEC Arizona works to better align education and training with the evolving needs of the profession. These efforts also include advancing policies and programs that improve licensure pathways, recruitment, and long-term retention, while providing member firms with practical resources, best practices, and meaningful opportunities to engage and inspire the next generation. Together, these initiatives help grow the industry’s talent pipeline, support students from K–12 through early career stages, strengthen collaboration with peer organizations, and ensure a sustainable future workforce for Arizona’s engineering community.

Political Action Committees

The ACEC National and State Political Action Committees (PACs) support pro-engineering, pro-business candidates at both the state and federal levels to help strengthen the industry’s voice through ethical and transparent political engagement. By assisting in the election of leaders who understand the critical importance of infrastructure investment and engineering expertise, the PACs complement ACEC’s broader advocacy efforts and help build long-term, productive relationships with policymakers. These efforts provide members with meaningful opportunities to participate, contribute, and stay informed about elections and public policy, while ensuring the engineering industry remains well represented by elected officials who support sound infrastructure policy and a strong business environment.
