Engineers Getting Involved!!!
Getting YOUR name out! One great way to get marketing exposure for you and your firm is to become involved in government at a grass roots level. While engineers are well aware of the State Board of Technical Registration, many do not know of the dozens of other opportunities to get involved in policy issues affecting our engineering industry. In addition to the numerous Boards and Commissions that deal with technical issues, almost every Board and Commission has public members who serve.
The time commitment required as a Board member various with each Board. Some meet monthly or more often, some meet once a year or less! To get more information or to apply for an appointment, go to the Governor’s web site – www.azgovernor.gov– and click on “Offices and Appointments” on the left side of the screen. That will take you to the Boards and Commissions website which features the current vacancies and an on-line application form. ACEC/AZ will be glad to help if you are interested in applying!
